Iss03/09/11 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2011-015 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR <br />PROJECT FUNDING UNDER THE COMMUNITY BASED <br />TRANSPORTATION PLANNING PROGRAM <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br />A. The State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has issued a <br />call for projects through the Community Based Transportation Planning Program <br />(CBTP), providing funding for projects which integrate transportation, land use planning <br />and community values to support livable communities; and <br />B. CBTP funding is available on a competitive basis for projects which support <br />livable community concepts with a mobility objective to promote community identity and <br />quality of life; and <br />C. CBTP funding would allow the City of Santa Ana to prepare a bicycle and <br />pedestrian plan; and <br />D. The City will comply with the assurances set forth in the application. <br />Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana authorizes the submission <br />of an application for Community Based Transportation Planning funding in the amount <br />of $300,000 for implementation of a bicycle and pedestrian plan. <br />Section 3. The City Council appoints the City Manager, or the Executive <br />Director of the Public Works Agency or his designee, as agent for the City of Santa Ana <br />to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents, including but not limited <br />to applications, agreements, amendments, payment requests and so on, which may be <br />necessary for the completion of the project. <br />Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by <br />the City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting <br />this Resolution. <br />Resolution No. 2011-015 <br />Page 1 of 2
