Character-defining features, such as original windows, massing, <br />porch, and architectural details, will maintain their architectural <br />integrity thereby meeting Standards Number Five. <br />3. Since the original portion of the house is not being remodeled, and <br />will remain essentially intact from the public view, the structure's <br />essential form will be unimpaired by this addition which meets the <br />requirement of Standard Number Ten. <br />4. The new construction will be compatible by utilizing wood windows <br />and windows trim, as well as matching narrow clapboard for <br />external sheathing material and have matching eaves. However, it <br />will also be differentiated by using modern screening material in the <br />attic and sub-floor vents. The project thereby meets Standard <br />Number Nine. <br />F. In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act, the <br />recommended action is exempt from further review pursuant to Section <br />15331, which allows for rehabilitation of historic resources that meets the <br />Secretary of the Interior's Standards. A Notice of Exemption will be filed <br />for this project. <br />Section 2: The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana <br />hereby approves the Certificate of Appropriateness for the 5teussy House, located at <br />1123 West Third Street. This decision is based upon, the complete record presented to <br />• the Historic Resources Commission, including all public testimony, and the staff report <br />and exhibits. <br />Section 3.
