Grainger, Inc. for the purchase of hand tools and miscellaneous items <br />for a one-year period in an annual amount not to exceed $30,000. <br />DISCUSSION <br />In order to perform general maintenance, various City departments require an assortment of tools <br />such as saws, hammers, screwdrivers, shovels and rakes. The items are purchased through the <br />Central Stores warehouse for distribution to the various departments. The contracts for hand tools <br />are designed to provide quality products at significant savings based on quantity pricing. In addition, <br />the City also establishes contracts for miscellaneous items including tools for items that are not <br />available from the Central Stores warehouse. <br />On August 3, 2009, the City Council awarded to W.W. Grainger, Inc., a Santa Ana vendor, a contract <br />for one-year period, with provisions for four one-year renewals. W.W. Grainger, Inc. offers pricing <br />through the Western State's Contracting Alliance (WSCA) contract.
