Lopez <br />Mathew Mejia <br />Pektra Monh <br />Verak Monh <br />Jonathan Rivera <br />Head Coach Alex Badillo and <br />Assistant Coach/Team Mom Jessica <br />Ayala <br />CERTIFICATES OF RECOGNITION presented by COUNCILMEMBER BENAVIDES to <br />the following Valley High School Water Polo Team members for winning the C.I.F. <br />Division 7 Championship: <br />Bianka Baeza Jenny Silva <br />Gabriela Chavez Lizbeth Silva <br />Jazmin Hinojoza Dianna Solano and <br />Cristina Magana Coach Fred Lammers <br />CLOSED SESSION REPORT- Nothing to report. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />• George Collins, concerned with recent Planning Commission Agenda item regarding <br />housing opportunity ordinance that will be forthcoming to the City Council; asked <br />Council to consider all options when deliberating on item. <br />• Pearl Jemison-Smith, invited all to participate in the upcoming 25th Anniversary of <br />Aids Walk OC that will be held at the Disneyland Resort on Sunday, May 1 st <br />• Laura Cooley, spoke in opposition to elephant rides at the Santa Ana Zoo. <br />• Brenda Calvillo, opposed to elephant rides at Santa Ana Zoo. <br />• Alison Stanley, opposed to elephant rides. <br />• Luis Mier, owner of bail bond company in the City; would like City to amend the <br />loitering provision in and around the jails. <br />• Don Mehr, also spoke on loitering by outside bail bond companies that are doing <br />business through portable computers. <br />• Dave Simon, opined that elephant should be banned. <br />• Katie Maneeley, opined that City's ordinance on prohibiting use of exotic animals <br />should be amended. <br />• Rene Guzman, spoke on legalization of prescription drugs and invited all to <br />participate in upcoming event "National Take Back Initiative" at Westend Substation <br />April 30th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. <br />• Alex Vega, reflected on the leadership of retiring City Manager David Ream and the <br />legacy he leaves after more than 25 years as City Manager. <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 4 APRIL 4, 2011 <br />1 0A-4
