WITH SAME MEMBERS <br />PRESENT. <br />COMMENTS <br />90A CITY MANAGER'S COMMENTS — None <br />90B CITY COUNCILMEMBER COMMENTS <br />Councilmember Tinajero: <br />• Invited all to attend upcoming little league tournaments that will be held <br />at various parks throughout the City. <br />Councilmember Benavides: <br />• Pleased with project on MacArthur; City in need of quality homes and <br />mixed -use areas; <br />• Santa Ana Zoo hosting event 'Party for the Planet" on Saturday, April <br />9th <br />• Thanked staff for new marquee at the Santa Ana Zoo. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Alvarez: <br />• Noted that City had approved Child Safety Zones 5 years ago due to <br />Jessica's Law; District Attorney's Office making announcement at <br />press conference to unveil their Zones, asked Police Department to <br />make sure County Zones do not pre -empt City Zones and agendize at <br />upcoming Public Safety Committee meeting to review Zones. <br />Councilmember Sarmiento: <br />• Comments on marquee at the entrance of Santa Ana Zoo; <br />• Asked that all developers follow through on development standards as <br />approved by the City Council and Planning Commission; and <br />• City would be challenging Census 2010 data; believe process is <br />antiquated resulting in inaccurate count — funds at City level lost and <br />congressional districts to be redrawn. <br />Councilmember Martinez <br />• Congratulated UConn College <br />Championship; <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 15 <br />1 0A -15 <br />for NCAA College Basketball <br />APRIL 4, 2011 <br />
