REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />APRIL 18, 2011 <br />TITLE: <br />AGREEMENT FOR A COMPUTER AIDED <br />DISPATCH SYSTEM MAINTENANCE <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 1st Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with TriTech <br />Software Systems for maintenance support to the Fire Department's computer aided dispatch <br />system in an amount not to exceed $120,844 for a one year period, subject to non - substantive <br />changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Fire Department's Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system was upgraded in September 2006. <br />TriTech Software Systems is provider of this service, and provides maintenance to their proprietary <br />hardware, software, and software interfaces. The system provides for the dispatching of <br />emergency vehicles and the transfer of data to mobile data computers (MDC) located in these <br />vehicles.
