Government Training Institute/ Course Proposal <br />Santa Ana Police <br /> <br />1 Rosa Ponce de Leon <br /> <br />'` a ? v 714.245.8672 F& <br /> <br />Proposal for (Immediate Action Teams- <br />4 Sessions) <br />__ <br />Santa Ana will provide: Each session will need the following <br />1. Classroom with computer and projector 2 days) 2. Standard Outdoor Range 2 days) <br />Building (s) where we can utilize Simunition training (6 days) 4. If possible, abandoned houses <br />For exercises <br />280 rifle rds/ 250 handgun rds per officer for range day <br />GTI will provide 1 Instructor, Student Notebooks, Student Manuals on CD, Certificates, Simunition <br />man marking rounds for all practical exercises <br /> <br />This proposal is based on up to 60 students for each session of the Immediate Action Teams/ The Active <br />Shooter class in a mobile training format to Santa Ana, California. Proposal price includes student tuition and <br />all Government Training Institute expenses such as shipping and instructor travel costs. There will be 4 <br />sessions, consisting of two three day classes each, with thirty officers per each class. Proposal price will <br />remain unaffected if less than sixty students attend each session. <br /> <br />Class Dates: Session 1: May 5-71& May 9-11` 2011; Session 2: July 14-16` & July 18-20` 2011; <br />Session 3: September 8-10-'& September 12-14` 2011; Session 4: TBD <br /> <br />The Government Training Institute's Immediate Action Team Course covers 14 separate modules in 3 days, each a 10 <br />hour day. Students learn proven tactics and techniques for smaller first responder elements in dealing with an active <br />shooter and the initial response to a terrorist incident. Students have daily practical exercises as well as instruction <br />throughout the 3 day curriculum. The IAT course gives students instruction and practical application in the followin <br />g <br />tactical training: <br />? Officers will learn proven tactical shooting shills during range sessions and force on force scenarios. <br />? The student will learn the difference between the traditional response and the acceptable response to an <br />active shooter situation along with initial response to terrorist situations. <br />? The student will learn the proper techniques and shills needed to respond to an active shooter and terr <br />ri <br />t <br />o <br />s <br />situation. <br />? Officers will become familiarized with current thoughts on the Priority of Life and the differences surrounding <br />traditional and acceptable responses. <br />?
