Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute the attached agreement with <br />the Orange County Transportation Authority in the annual amount of $167,850 to provide the <br />Senior Mobility Program for a five year period, subject to non-substantive changes approved <br />by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />2. Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute the attached agreement with <br />the Orange County Transportation Authority in the annual amount of $71,848 to provide the <br />Senior Mobility Program at the Vietnamese Community of Orange County for a five year <br />period, subject to non-substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) developed the Senior Mobility Program for the <br />purpose of improving transportation services for seniors in the region. Through the program, the <br />Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency provides transportation services to Santa Ana <br />seniors to and from our two senior centers and various City events. For FY 2011-2012, the City of <br />Santa Ana will receive $167,850 to continue the operation of two vehicles used for local senior <br />transportation services. As part of the agreement the City of Santa Ana will provide a 20 percent <br />local match, which may consist of in-kind staff resources or other contractual transportation <br />services. Funds for the match are included in the Parks, Recreation and Community Services <br />Agency FY 2011-12 budget. <br />In addition, the City will receive $71,848 from OCTA to support the Vietnamese Community of <br />Orange County's (VNCOC) Senior Mobility Program. The VNCOC will receive $71,848 and provide <br />the 20 percent local match required under the agreement. In turn, VNCOC will provide <br />transportation services for the Vietnamese senior community in Santa Ana. <br />25J-1
