(3) All barbecues shall have ashes, charcoal or any other materials <br />removed once a week. Following cleaning the Contractor shall paint <br />the exterior of the b.b.q.'s and the post with heat and rust resistant <br />flat black paint. <br />e) All parks with flagpoles shall have an American flag displayed at all <br />times. The Contractor shall visually inspect the flag every day to assure it <br />is in good condition. Should, in the opinion of the Director, the flag not <br />be in good condition (faded, discolored, torn and/or having holes) <br />Contractor shall immediately request from the Director a new flag. <br />Contractor shall raise the new flag immediately upon receipt from the <br />Director. <br />f) Drinking fountains shall be clean, sanitized and unplugged every day <br />Monday through Sunday. The Contractor shall use approved germicidal <br />cleaner and products to assure that drinking fountains are clean and <br />polished. The Contractor shall remove any mineral build up, algae, <br />stains, etc. so the drinking fountain is 100% clean and polished. The <br />Contractor shall achieve this level of quality using a combination of <br />cleansers, metal polish product, hand and/or power tools. Should the <br />drinking fountain be so plugged that dismantling the fountain is required <br />the Contractor shall notify the Director immediately so City staff can <br />make the repair. <br />10. PIay_ground/Tot-Lot Areas <br />a) The Contractor shall provide maintenance of all playground/tot-Iot sand <br />and rubberized areas once a week. Maintenance shall include, but not <br />limited to, loosening of compacted areas, re-grading sand areas to level <br />condition (eliminating ruts, depressions, build up areas, etc.), sifting of <br />sand to assure that debris and any other foreign objects are removed, <br />removal of weeds, removing sand on sidewalks surrounding the <br />playground/tot-lot, eliminating berms (including pre-existing) in the turf <br />surrounding the playground/tot-lots (high pressure water blasting or sod <br />cutting, leveling and re-sodding are approved methods), and trash and <br />other undesirable material. Rubberized fall areas shall be cleaned of sand <br />and debris daily. Any sand that accumulates on the rubberized surface <br />shall be reused. Sand and debris on the playground equipment shall be <br />removed. <br />b) The City shall be responsible for all playground equipment and tot-lot <br />area safety inspections. <br />21
