Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Award a contract to Zebron Contracting, Inc. for the rehabilitation and lining of sewer manholes in an <br />amount not to exceed $75,000. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Agency's Water Resources Division performs an ongoing assessment of the <br />condition of concrete and brick sewer manholes throughout the City. Staff has determined that 39 <br />manholes have deteriorated and require rehabilitation using a process that repairs and seals the <br />interior of the manhole with a polyurethane coating. The recommended contract will result in the <br />repair of leakages, prevent structural failure, and extend the life of existing manholes for a fraction of <br />the cost of replacement. <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on May 26, 2011 and bids were solicited. A summary of the <br />bid invitations and bids received is as follows: <br />3 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />3 Bids received <br />Bids were received, opened on June 6, 20011, and evaluated (Exhibit 1). The bid received from <br />Zebron Contracting, Inc. is responsive to the specifications and meets the City's requirements. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS <br />There is no environmental impact associated with this action. <br />22A-1
