Approve the allocation amendments to the Fiscal Year 2011-2012 Community Development <br />Block Grant Program (Exhibit 1). <br />2. Authorize the City Manager to submit the approved program to the United States Department <br />of Housing and Urban Development for the City's Fiscal Year 2011-2012 allocation of <br />Community Development Block Grant funds and execute the grant agreement with the United <br />States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). <br />3. Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and the Clerk of the <br />Council to execute memorandums of understanding with city departments and agreements <br />with nonprofit agencies awarded funds as part of the approved program. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On April 18, 2011, the City Council approved the Fiscal Year 2011/2012 Community Development <br />Block Grant (CDBG) program. At the time, the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development had not notified the City of the amount of funds to be received from this grant; <br />therefore, the assumption of an 8% decrease in funding was utilized. The City has since received <br />information about the actual grant funding for FY 2011/2012. The decrease is approximately <br />16.5% or $1,234,885 less than the 2010/11 funding levels. Based on the actual 2011/12 <br />allocations, a recommendation to amend the approved CDBG program to the amounts listed <br />below is proposed. <br />25E-1
