<br />2009-2010 Improvement Project of the Year.
<br />SR-22 HOV Expansion Design-Build, OCTA and Caltrans District 12, Orange County, CA
<br />Senior Bridge Inspector responsible for inspection of 3 bridges for this fast-track project for the
<br />widening of the Garden Grove Freeway with PC/PS bulb tee girders, Lewis Street OC box girder
<br />bridge replacement, and The City Drive over the Santa Ana River Channel. The project also
<br />included over a combined 20 retaining walls and sound walls including MSE walls, Type 1 and 5
<br />retaining walls, CIDH barrier walls and sound walls, precast pilasters, concrete, PCC pavement,
<br />roadway excavation, bridge demolition, utility relocation, and drainage facilities. The project
<br />required major traffic detours.
<br />SR-60/SR-91/1-215 Design Sequencing Project, Caltrans District 8, Riverside, CA
<br />Lead Construction Inspector responsible for inspection of a 7 mile $200+ million Design Sequencing Project. This
<br />project involved mainline and shoulder widening, MSE walls, retaining walls, sound walls, soil nail walls, mass
<br />grading and earthwork, double and single box culverts, new drainage systems, truck bypass, auxiliary lanes,
<br />local street and intersection realignment, and bridge removal and replacement. The project effort involved
<br />major traffic detours and traffic control.
<br />SR-60/SR-91/1-215, Caltrans District 8, Riverside, CA
<br />Assistant Resident Engineer/Assistant Project Manager responsible for assisting RE with extra work force
<br />account analysis on change orders, extensive analysis of manpower hours for contractors submitted invoices,
<br />auditing contractors invoices ensuring contract plans, specifications and special provisions compliance. The
<br />SR-60/SR-91/1-215 Interchange project also involved mainline and shoulder widening that required the
<br />reconstruction of the 3rd/Blaine Street bridge, Spruce Street over BNSF, Chicago Avenue bridge, Canyon
<br />Crest Drive bridge, Martin Luther King Boulevard bridge, University Avenue bridge, Iowa Avenue bridge,
<br />and a new 2 lane truck bypass bridge over 1-215 and BNSF. In addition it included the reconstruction and
<br />extension of a double 10' x 10' reinforced concrete box culvert for the City of Riverside Canal.
<br />Caltrans District 8 On-Call Specialty Inspection, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, CA
<br />Safety Compliance Officer responsible for the safety compliance for most of Caltrans District 8 construction
<br />projects. Performs safety reviews and writes safety reports to Resident Engineers for day and night
<br />closures during the construction stages and recommends proper resolutions to meet the Cal OSHA
<br />requirements; such as fall protection, confined space, enforce newly revised MUTCD, lane closures, bridge
<br />safety inspections, monitors crane certifications updates, false work removal and clearances, personal
<br />protection, operations near high voltage lines, trenching, house keeping, conducts and enforces safety
<br />measures during all pre-construction meetings, prepares Construction Safety Data sheets and Code of
<br />Safe Practices for each construction project, reviews and approves all Lead Compliance Plans and Asbestos
<br />Plans, and performs constructability reviews for 60% and 95% completed plans for District 8 projects.
