RESOLUTION NO. 201 1-038 <br />Iss6/9/201 1 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR <br />STATEWIDE PARK DEVELOPMENT AND COMMUNITY <br />REVITALIZATION PROGRAM GRANT FUNDS UNDER <br />THE SAFE DRINKING WATER BOND ACT OF 2006 <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1 . The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br />A. In November 2006, the people of the State of California passed <br />Proposition 84: The Safe Drinking Water, Water Quality and Supply, Flood <br />Control, River and Coastal Protection Bond Act; and <br />B_ One component of Proposition 84, the Statewide Park Development and <br />Community Revitalization Program of 2008 ("Statewide Park Program), <br />funds grants for the creation of new parks and recreation facilities in <br />critically underserved communities throughout California; and <br />C. The State Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the <br />responsibility for the administration of the Statewide Park Program, setting <br />up necessary procedures governing the Program; and <br />D. Said procedures established by the State Department of Parks and <br />Recreation require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval of <br />application(s) before submission of said application(s) to the State; and <br />E. If selected, the City of Santa Ana will enter into a contract with the State of <br />California to complete the grant project; <br />Section 2. The City Council hereby approves the filing of an application for <br />Five Million Dollars ($5,000,000) under the Statewide Park Development and <br />Community Revitalization Program for Roosevelt and Walker Joint Use Recreational <br />Site Improvements, and <br />(a) Certifies that said applicant has or will have available, prior to <br />commencement of any work on the project included in this application, sufficient funds <br />to complete the project; and, <br />Resolution No. 201 1 -038 <br />Page 1 of 3
