0 0 <br />Specifications for Emergency Generators Preventive Maintenance <br />7. Check engine protective devices. <br />8. Check engine mount for proper torque. <br />BELTS AND HOSES <br />1. Inspect/replace worn accessory drive and alternator belts. <br />2. Replace cracked, leaking, or soft hoses, tighten loose clamps. <br />FAN DRIVE <br />1. Lubricate bearings. <br />2. Lubricate belt tightener, grease fittings. <br />AIR SYSTEM <br />1. Replace element. <br />2. Check hoses and ducting for leaks. <br />BATTERIES <br />1. Tighten battery retainers. <br />2. Check electrolyte levels, add distilled water as needed. <br />3. Clean battery's exterior and terminals. <br />4. Check battery charger for proper charge rate. <br />GENERATOR <br />1. Check generator main stator windings. <br />2. Clean exterior of generator unit and the voltage regulator. <br />3. Lubricate generator front and rear bearings. <br />4. Check main stator winding temperature (if equipped). <br />5. Check bearing bracket temperature (if equipped). <br />6. Complete insulation test (megger). <br />7. Lube bearings. <br />8. Clean intake screens. <br />9. Complete a two-hour load test based upon Kohler mandated parameters for this unit. <br />TRANSFER SYSTEM FOR ALL GENERATORS <br />1. Test with approval of Building Maintenance Superintendent that electrical transfer switches <br />are working properly. (PMA's required) <br />2. Transfer load from Edison to emergency generator. <br />14 of 26
