NO. 07-060) <br /> r CONTINUED TO <br /> <br /> FILE NUMBER <br /> CITY MANAGER <br /> <br /> RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br /> <br /> Renew the contract with California Forensic Phlebotomy, Inc., for blood and breath technician <br /> services in an annual amount not to exceed $120,000. <br /> <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> <br /> The Santa Ana Police Department Forensics Division contracts with California Forensic <br /> Phlebotomy Inc. for blood alcohol level testing/analysis, drug content, blood typing, and DNA <br /> testing. California Forensic Phlebotomy, Inc. is the current provider of blood and breath <br /> technician services for all Orange County law enforcement agencies. The testing is required for <br /> use as evidence in the prosecution of criminal cases. <br /> On July 2, 2007, the City Council awarded a contract to California Forensic Phlebotomy, Inc., for <br /> a two-year term, with provision for three, one-year renewals. The vendor has agreed to renew <br /> the contract for the final year. California Forensic Phlebotomy, inc., has been providing service to <br /> the City since 1992, and has performed satisfactorily during this time.
