ATTACHMENT A 2011-DJ-BX-2532 <br />City: ORANGE <br />The City of Orange proposes to use the 2011 Justice Assistance Grant funding as follows: <br />Purpose Areas: <br />The Purpose Area of the project is planning, evaluation and technology. <br />Program Narrative: <br />The Orange Police Department is proposing to install emergency response lighting and equipment in nine <br />detective vehicles. This equipment consists of lights, siren, speakers and control modules. This <br />equipment will provide detectives the ability to promptly respond to in-progress emergencies, thus <br />increasing available field deployment. <br />California law requires that emergency vehicles be equipped with emergency lights and siren in order to <br />respond to emergencies. Currently, detective vehicles are not equipped with the necessary lights and <br />siren and unable to respond in compliance with CVC 21055. <br />Goals of the project: <br />To equip nine detective vehicles with emergency lighting equipment in order to enhance the Police <br />Department's ability to respond to emergency situations in a safe and expedient manner. <br />Strategies to be used for project: <br />N/A <br />Project identifiers: <br />The JAG Identifier is equipment-general. <br />2011-DJ-BX-2532 <br />Page 28 of 38 <br />20A-36
