Our approach will address the following:
1. Identify the potential management options for operating the Santa Ana Zoo - currently at least
three:
A. Close the Zoo;
B. Shift in governance and management to not-for-profit entity; and
C. Self-sufficient model with current public/private structure, potentially with modifications
2. Current and future baseline financial operating model of the Santa Ana Zoo
3. Role(s) and responsibilities of the City and its partners
4. City's financial commitment, if any, in the future operations of the Santa Ana Zoo
5. Recommendation on preferred management option - the Zoo's future financial, organizational
and operational plans under the preferred option will be developed once the new management
structure has been approved.
25A-13
