Iss10/10/2011 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2011-067 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR <br />CALIFORNIA RIVER PARKWAYS GRANT PROGRAM <br />UNDER THE SAFE DRINKING WATER, WATER QUALITY <br />AND SUPPLY, FLOOD CONTROL, RIVER AND COASTAL <br />PROTECTION BOND ACT OF 2006 <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br />A. In November 2006, the people of the State of California passed <br />Proposition 84: The Safe Drinking Water, Water Quality and Supply, Flood <br />Control, River and Coastal Protection Bond Act; and <br />B. One component of Proposition 84, the California River Parkways Grant <br />Program ("River Parkways Program"), funds the acquisition, protection, <br />restoration and development of creek and river parkways; and <br />C. The California Natural Resources Agency has been delegated the <br />responsibility for the administration of the River Parkways Program, <br />setting up necessary procedures governing the Program; and <br />D. Said procedures established by the Natural Resources Agency require the <br />applicant to certify by resolution the approval of application(s) before <br />submission of said application(s) to the State; and <br />E. If selected, the City of Santa Ana will enter into a contract with the State of <br />California to complete the grant project; <br />Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby: <br />(a) Approves the filing of an application for Three Million Dollars ($3,000,000) <br />under the California River Parkways Grant Program for Santiago Park Trail and <br />Landscape Improvements; and <br />(b) Certifies that the City of Santa Ana understands the assurances and <br />certifications in the application; and <br />Resolution No. 2011-067 <br />Page 1 of 3
