Notices were sent to all <br />of the Advisory Committee members notifying them of the study session. At that meeting, two <br />members spoke on the subject, Caesar Covarrubias, Kennedy Commission and Mike Tardif, <br />property owner within the Industrial Overlay of the Transit Zone. Staff also provided a <br />presentation to the Community Redevelopment and Housing Commission on April 5, 2011. <br />Public notification included a mailing list of over 900 property owners and interested parties. This <br />mailing list was used to send notices for the public hearing held on March 28th and this public <br />hearing. This mailing list included: Metro East property owners, Transit Zoning Code Industrial <br />Overlay property owners, Harbor Transit Corridor Plan property owners, First and Fifth Streets <br />Transit Corridor sites property owners, Town and Country Manor property owners, MacArthur <br />Place property owners, City Place property owners and property owners within Harbor Boulevard <br />Corridor project area. <br />Based upon feedback from several property owners regarding the format of the March 28th <br />notice, which was postcard size, staff modified the format for this and all future mailed <br />notifications to a full-page format. This format also conforms to that used by the City Clerk. <br />Spanish and Vietnamese language contact information was also included on these notices. Staff <br />also contacted each of those in attendance at the March 28th public hearing by phone to answer <br />any questions and notify them of this meeting. <br />Notices, a full copy of the draft ordinance and any other handouts or PowerPoint presentations were <br />also posted on the City's website and, where e-mail addresses were provided, staff sent messages <br />to those on the electronic notification list. Notice of this public hearing also was posted on the <br />Planning and Building Agency's Facebook page. <br />A notice was published in the Orange County Reporter advertising the Planning Commission <br />public hearing and notices were mailed to those requesting notification of ordinance amendment <br />proposals, such as Santa Ana Unified School District and Edison Real Estate Operations. <br />At the time of publishing this report, a total of nine telephone inquiries were received. The <br />general tone of the inquiries included understanding of the proposed ordinance, possible effect <br />on their current property and why they had received the notice. <br />75B-11
