REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />NOVEMBER 7, 2011 <br />TITLE: <br />CONTRACT AWARD FOR <br />SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE WITH <br />BENTLEY SYSTEMS, INC. <br />i <br />I <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />IWI.P.10 I I <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 1St Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the City Manager and the Clerk of the Council to execute the attached two -year agreement <br />with Bentley Systems, Inc. for software maintenance and technical support for the specialized <br />engineering software used in the Public Works Agency in an amount not to exceed $45,000 per year. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Agency utilizes a number of specialized engineering software products for its <br />computer design services and for accessing data on the Geographic Information System. Bentley <br />Systems, Inc. owns and maintains this software. A software maintenance agreement is needed to <br />ensure that the City receives software upgrades and technical support. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The cost of maintenance for the first year of the agreement is projected to be $42,675. Funds are <br />budgeted in the current fiscal year in the Public Works Administration program for professional <br />contract services (accounting unit 10117601 - 62300).
