Although HUD recognizes that nationally households <br />with adults with disabilities face difficulties in locating suitable, <br />accessible and affordable housing in the private market, this is even a <br />greater issue in Santa Ana due to the escalating rents. In 1998 the <br />Santa Ana Housing Authority received 100 units under this program, which <br />are almost 1000 leased. At this time, the authority is requesting an <br />additional 75 units (maximum allowed) to expand this successful program. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />By submitting this application, the Santa Ana Housing Authority will be <br />eligible to receive additional funds in the housing voucher account <br />(account no. 140-01-5350) to provide rental assistance to eligible <br />individuals/families.
