Updated Hot Sheets will be <br /> distributed to patrol and traffic officers every three to four weeks. <br />10 263 To send_ supervisory and other interested law enforcement personnel Target number: 2 <br /> to the OTS sponsored "DUI Checkpoints - Planning and Management" <br /> 8 hour, POST Certified training course by December 31. <br />11 35 To conduct Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) training for_ Target number: 5 <br /> officers by January 31. Note: At least one sworn officer who has <br /> received NHTSA-certified SFST training should participate in each <br /> DUI/DL checkpoint conducted under this grant. <br />12 264 To send _ law enforcement personnel to the NHTSA "Advanced Target number: 10 <br /> Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement" (ARIDE) 16 hour, POST- <br /> Certified training by January 31. <br />13 36 To submit a California Law Enforcement Challenge application to CHP <br /> according to instructions on the CHP website <br /> http://www.chp.ca.gov/features/clec.html and submit a copy of the <br /> application to CHP and the Office of Traffic Safety by the last Friday of <br /> March in each grant year. <br />14 266 To report the procurement status of all equipment planned to be <br /> purchased as part of this grant. <br />15 1 To conduct _ DUI/DL Checkpoints. Note: To enhance the overall Target number: 22 <br /> deterrent effect and promote high visibility, be sure to issue an advance <br /> press release for each checkpoint operation. For combination DUI/DL <br /> checkpoints, departments must issue press releases that mention DL's <br /> will be checked at the DUI/DL checkpoint. Also, according to the <br /> Attorney General's Office all DUI/DL checkpoint operations must have <br /> signs reading "DUI/Driver's License Checkpoint Ahead." . OTS does not <br /> fund or support independent DL checkpoints. Only on an exception <br /> basis and with OTS pre-approval will OTS fund checkpoint operations <br /> that begin prior to 1800 hours. <br />16 6 To conduct - DUI Saturation Patrols.
