Set Public Hearing For_ <br />1 <br />CITY MANAGER <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute the attached cooperative <br />agreements with the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) subject to nonsubstantive <br />changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney to implement three Measure M <br />Regional Traffic Signal Synchronization Projects. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On March 7, 2011, Council authorized staff to submit joint applications with other agencies for <br />funding under the renewed Measure M2 Regional Traffic Signal Synchronization Program to <br />provide interjurisdictional traffic signal synchronization and improvements along several <br />corridors in the city. <br />On June 30, 2011, the OCTA Board approved the local agencies' funding request for <br />implementation of traffic signal synchronization and improvements on the following corridors: <br />MacArthur Boulevard/Talbert Avenue from Wal-Mart Center to State Route-55 <br />Tustin Avenue/Rose Street from 1 st Street to Yorba Linda Boulevard <br />Warner Avenue from Pacific Coast Highway to Red Hill Avenue <br />The other local agencies participating in these three projects are Huntington Beach, Fountain <br />Valley, Tustin, Orange, Anaheim, Placentia, and Caltrans. The Measure M2 grant approved for <br />the three corridors totals $1,697,305 with the local agencies providing a 20 percent match for <br />$424,328. Santa Ana's grant amount is $632,608 with a 20 percent match of $145,615. <br />The following table reflects the funding breakdown: <br />25B-1
