Workshops include: <br />How to Write a Winning Resume <br />Learn how to communicate your skills and abilities to attract an employer's attention and land an <br />interview. Receive individual assistance in the computer lab with resume preparation in MS <br />Word and on-line posting. You'll leave our workshop armed with a professional resume that will <br />enhance your employability. <br />Giving a Great Interview <br />This workshop provides tips on making a great first impression with employers. You'll learn what <br />to say, what not to say, as well as techniques to help you confidently answer common interview <br />questions. Learn how to turn "What is your greatest weakness?" into a positive. If you have <br />gaps in employment, felonies or other issues of concern, our instructor will give you solutions to <br />address those sensitive topics in an interview setting. <br />Overcoming Barriers Workshop <br />Geared towards previously incarcerated individuals- Topics include: how to re-enter the job <br />market, application completion and interview techniques. Learn how to answer those difficult <br />questions surrounding your absence from the labor market. These workshops provide a safe, <br />welcoming environment to get answers for any questions or concerns you may have. <br />California Labor Market Information Workshop <br />Topics include how to navigate the Labor Market to find wage information, training opportunities, <br />job opportunities and employer information. Additional information includes education and skill <br />levels required for a career, as well as a description of what the day to day duties would be in a <br />specific occupation. <br />This workshop will provide you with valuable information for today's labor market, so that you <br />can make an educated decision on which career path is best suited to your skills and abilities. <br />For more information about California's Labor Market, click here. <br />Computer Classes (English 8. Spanish) <br />Topics include how to use the computer, create an a-mail account and conduct a job search. <br />Instruction starts with the most basic computer skills required by most employers, including <br />turning on the computer, explanation and usage of a mouse, and using the Internet.
