MEMORANDUM
,ducauon jst
Kevin O'Rourke
To: Interim City Manager Date: May 23, 2013
_a
Raul Godinez II, Executive Director
From: Public Works Agency
Subject: Project Nos.: 12 -6753, 12 -7531 & 11 -2618
Residential Street Repair Phase 16 and Santiago Park Roadway Imp
rovemeri4s
Change Order No. 2 ::e.'
Contractor: R.J. Noble Company
15505 E. Lincoln Avenue
Orange, CA 92865
Project Description: Residential Street Repair Phase 16 and Santiago Park Roadway
Improvements
Change Order Number: 2
Accounting Unit - Account - Activity Numbers:
31213261- 66220 - 11261801028 District 2
JUSTIFICATION
Total This Change Order: $40,512.88
The contract documents required the installation of approximately 330 linear feet of
5 -foot high wrought iron fence at Santiago Park along the service road which serves
the wildlife and watershed center, nature reserve and archery range. The fence is
intended to protect the natural habitat near the creek while inhibiting parking along
the road. Upon potholing the existing underground Navy jet -fuel pipeline, it was
determined that the proposed location of the new fence was within three feet of the
pipeline. Navy regulations required a minimum three foot offset from their pipeline
for any proximate improvements. Since the new wrought iron fence needed to be
relocated, Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency took this opportunity
to enhance the park by realigning the fence and adding a pedestrian walking trail
adjacent to the fence.
FINAL COST = $40,512.88
