Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Award contracts for chemicals for a one-year period, with provision for three, one-year renewals <br />in the annual amounts as follows: <br />Vendor Location: Amount: <br />Crop Production Services Santa Ana $55,000 <br />Waterline Technologies Santa Ana $87,000 <br />DISCUSSION <br />Both the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency and The Public Works Agency <br />require herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers to control and eradicate weeds and insects to sustain <br />abundant plant growth and to maintain healthy trees. Chemicals such as hydrochloric acid and <br />sodium hypochlorite are required to disinfect public swimming pools, water fountains, sewer <br />system, and water wells throughout the City. The chemicals are purchased through the Central <br />Stores warehouse for distribution to the agencies. The contracts are designed to provide quality <br />products at significant savings based on quantity pricing. <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on January 31, 2012, and bids were solicited.
