Roman Palacios opined Santa Ana residents were looking for Council leadership that would be <br />above bickering. <br />Jim Kendrick expressed his appreciation to outgoing Councilmember Mills for supporting the <br />vision of Santa Ana as a cultural center and expressed hope that Councilmember Lutz and Mayor <br />Pulido would be re- elected and continue to support the arts._ <br />Dennis Lluy described the accomplishments of Koo's Arts Cafe as a center for artistic expression <br />for young adults in Santa Ana. <br />Aaron Hardy reinforced Lluy's comments and encouraged continued support for Koo's. <br />Steve Broderson thanked Councilmember Mills for her dedicated service to Santa Ana. <br />Randy Au enumerated a number of "success stories" involving local artists, reported on activities <br />in the Downtown Artist Village, and opined the combination of business and art added value to a <br />community. <br />Michelle Morrissey expressed support for campaign contribution limitations and informed the <br />listening audience that campaign reports might be obtained in the Clerk of the Council Office. <br />Kim Sinclair chastised Councilmember Moreno for failure to perform his Council duty of voting <br />on legislative actions at several (non - televised) Council meetings. (See previous Minutes.) <br />Mel Vernon commented on the positive image of the City created by the recent Wilshire Square <br />Neighborhood Fair and Home Tour, thanked Councilmember Mills for her service, and <br />encouraged the viewing public to watch the October 17, 1996 Candidates' Forum scheduled for <br />broadcast on Channel 3 at 7 :00 p.m. by Comcast Cablevision. <br />90.B. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />Councilmember Espinoza: <br />- requested staff expedite the razing of several buildings burned by the <br />Fire Department on Bristol Street; and <br />- commented he had been pleasantly surprised at his recent high school <br />reunion to learn the extent of his peers' involvement in the City. <br />Councilmember Lutz: <br />- commended the Wilshire Square residents on a successful neighborhood <br />event; " <br />- thanked Community Preservation Coordinator Bruce Dunams and staff <br />for razing the deteriorated building at Civic Center Drive and Ross Street; <br />-and <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 312 OCTOBER 7, 1996 <br />
