Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the City Manager and the Clerk of the Council to execute an amendment to the <br />existing agreement with Pacific Services, Inc. to increase the contract amount from $63,000 to a <br />total amount not to exceed $80,000. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The United States Department of Homeland Security, Office of Grants and Training developed <br />the Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) funding program. This initiative was designed to <br />enhance the domestic preparedness of urban areas by ensuring that all emergency first <br />responders have adequate and appropriate equipment to prevent, respond to, and recover from <br />acts of terrorism. <br />On November 21, 2011, the City of Santa Ana entered into an agreement with Pacific Services, <br />Inc., to provide a point-to-point high-capacity wireless millimeter band system in an amount not to <br />exceed $63,000. The Santa Ana Police Department is seeking to amend this existing agreement <br />to increase the amount not by $17,000 to pay for a portable wireless mesh network in the Santa <br />Ana Civic Center Plaza. These connections are needed to support the Santa Ana Police <br />Department Video Surveillance System and to allow additional video security cameras in the <br />Santa Ana Civic Center to be linked with video security cameras at the Regional Transportation <br />Center. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds are available in the FY 2009 UASI Grant Fund account (no. 12514407-62300, Activity <br />10427301182, Account 3498). <br />APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br />Paul M.
