1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />'11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />program pursuant to State regulations. <br />3.8 Placement: An event that occurs when an employer hires a CalWORKs <br />WTW participant in an unsubsidized or subsidized employment position. <br />3.9 Santa Ana Workforce Investment Board (SA WIB): Established under <br />the Federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998, SA WIB oversees workforce <br />investment activities that increase the employment, retention, and earnings of <br />participants, and increase attainment of occupational skills by participants. <br />Workforce investment activities authorized by WIA are provided at the local <br />level via the One-Stop Centers to individuals .in need of those services, <br />including job seekers, dislocated workers, youth, incumbent workers, new <br />entrants to the workforce, veterans, persons with disabilities and employers. <br />3.10 Santa Ana Workforce Investment Board Case Manager (SA WIB CM): An <br />employee of the Santa Ana W/O/R/K Center, a division of the City of Santa Ana, <br />assigned to work with the CalWORKs participant and WTW staff throughout the <br />Vocational Training (VTR) and Work Experience (WEX) activities. The <br />responsibilities of the WIA Case Manager include the following: (1) handle the <br />eligibility determination process for all customers referred to program; (2) <br />review customer prerequisite for training, including career planning and using <br />labor market information; (3) assist with referrals to VTR or WEX; (4) prepare <br />and timely submit required paperwork; (5) screen and coordinate services with <br />other One-Stop Center partners; (6) coordinate training to placement <br />activities; and (7) offer supportive and follow-up services. <br />3.11 Supportive Services: Payments made by ADMINISTRATOR provided to <br />or on behalf of WTW participants for child care, transportation, and ancillary <br />expenses. <br />3.12 Welfare-To-Work (WTW): A mandated program under CalWORKs which <br />requires parents or caretakers in families on CalWORKS assistance, unless <br />exempted, to meet work requirements by participating in WTW activities with a <br />(WAM0811) <br />6 of 40 <br />(January 9, 2012)
