Approve the Funding Analysis for a total estimated construction cost of $52,900. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Master Plan for the Santiago Park Nature Reserve Area includes a wildlife and watershed <br />center, an outdoor amphitheatre, and a native habitat with a vernal pool. All of the facilities were <br />completed in 2008 and 2009 with the exception of the vernal pool. The Santiago Park Vernal <br />Pool Project completes the native habitat area by adding a lined vernal pool, irrigation, and <br />native landscaping to create an environment conducive to native species (Exhibit 1 ). These <br />improvements will complement the existing facilities and enhance the educational programming. <br />Funding was made available through the State of California Riparian and Riverine Habitat Grant <br />Program. <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on April 18 and 19, 2012 and bids were opened on <br />May 9, 2012. A summary of the bid invitations mailed, the bids received, and the bid results are <br />as follows: <br />Santa Ana contractors receiving notices: 14 <br />Contractors requesting bidding documents: 11 <br />Bids received: 5 <br />Bids received from Santa Ana contractors: 1 <br />
