DESCRIPTION AND SCOPE OF WORK
The City of Santa Ana is issuing this request for proposal (RFP) for the sweeping of up to approximately
72,000 annual curb miles of City streets on a bi-monthly, weekly or twice-weekly basis. The City is seeking
proposals for four sweeping service scenarios.
A. Scenario One will include sweeping of all residential streets only, with an option
for future additional remaining sweeping services in year four of the contract. Scenarios Two, Three
and Four will include residential sweeping in the first phase, followed by arterial sweeping in the second
phase and concluding with Industrials, Downtown and Alley sweeping in phase three. In addition to
street sweeping services, sweeping of City owned surface parking lots may be requested.
2. The sweeping operations shall be implemented utilizing a phased approach in which contract staff
will assume incremental responsibility of sweeping areas of the City. Each phase will be
implemented in three-month sequences or as determined appropriate by the City based on
contractor performance.
