Executive Director Trevino indicated that both State and National Historic <br />Designations are done at the request of property owners; City has <br />different requirements for designation. <br />Councilmember Sarmiento supports motion; approval allows for window of <br />opportunity for preservation. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Alvarez requested a point of clarification from City <br />Attorney - does the City Council need to approve the findings given that <br />the staff report does not delineate such finding. City Attorney Carvalho <br />indicated that staff did make that point and is now part of comments; <br />clarification helpful. <br />Mayor Pulido indicated that amended motion to include findings was <br />before the City Council for consideration. Maker of motion agreed to <br />amended motion. <br />Mayor Pulido noted that balance needed in development projects; <br />approval of item will allow appellant an opportunity to purchase property. <br />AMENDED MOTION: <br />1.
