<br />VII. EMERGENCY SOLUTIONS GRANT NARRATIVE STATEMENTS <br />Santa Ana received $301,897, in ESG funds from the first allocation from HUD for the 2011-2012 <br />Program Year. An additional $169,817 was also allocated from the second allocation of ESG funds, <br />but program implantation of these funds will begin in the 2012-2013 Program Year. During the <br />2011-2012 report period, 14 homeless service programs received ESG funding. <br />A. Assessment of Relationship of ESG Funds to Goals & Objectives <br />¦ Actions to address emergency shelter & transitional housing needs of homeless individuals & <br />families <br />During the report period, the City of Santa Ana continued to address the needs of the homeless <br />with ESG funds. Individuals assisted with ESG included Extremely Low- and Very Low-Income <br />people, families, unaccompanied women, men, single-/two-parent families, and adult couples <br />without children. Table 15 provides an overview of how 2011-2012 ESG funds were utilized to <br />meet the emergency and transitional housing needs of Santa Ana's homeless individuals and <br />families. <br />¦ Progress made using ESG funds to address Consolidated Plan homeless & homeless <br />prevention needs, goals, and specific objectives <br />Table 15 provides a summary of ESG accomplishments for the 2011-2012 report period. ESG <br />accomplishments are incorporated into the data listed in EXHIBIT 4 as it relates to specific homeless <br />objectives and goals for a five-year period and the progress made over one year to meet these <br />needs. <br />¦ Implementation of comprehensive homeless planning strategy with ESG projects <br />Santa Ana's homeless strategy aims to provide a complete range of activities that keep individuals <br />and families in their home during times of crisis, and also assists those already homeless to obtain <br />the housing and services needed to achieve self sufficiency. As summarized in Table 15 and EXHIBIT <br />4, the City has made strides to provide this continuum of services for the City's homeless. <br />08/23/2022 55 <br />19C-63
