City of Santa Ana Environmental Checklist <br />Discussion <br />Would the project: <br />a. Con vertPrime Farmland, Unique Farmland, or Farmland ofStatewide Importance (Farmland), <br />as shown on the maps prepared pursuant to the Farmland Mapping and Monitoring Program of <br />the California Resources Agency, to non-agricultural use? <br />No Impact. The proposed project is located in a fully developed urban environment. According to <br />the California Department of Conservation Orange County Important Farmland 2008 map <br />(California Department of Conservation 2008), the proposed project site is classified as "urban and <br />built -up land," which does not contain any agricultural uses. As a result, the proposed project does <br />not have the potential to convert Prime Farmland, Unique Farmland, or Farmland of Statewide <br />Importance to non - agricultural uses. No impact would occur. <br />h. Conflict with existing zoning for agricultural use or conflict with a Williamson Act contract? <br />No Impact. The project site is currently designated for urban uses by the Santa Ana General Plan <br />and Zoning Code, which designates the site for professional and office development. The project site <br />is an infill redevelopment parcel within a fully developed area. No agricultural land uses and no <br />property under Williamson Act contract exist in the vicinity of the proposed project. The proposed <br />project would not conflict with existing zoning for agricultural use or a Williamson Act contract. No <br />impact would occur. <br />c. Conflict with existing zoning for, or cause rezoning of; forest land (as defined in Public <br />Resources Code section 12220(g)), tirnherland (as defined by Public Resources Code section <br />4526), or timberland zoned Timberland Production (as defined by Government Code section <br />51104(8))? <br />No Impact. The project site is currently designated for urban uses by the Santa Ana General Plan <br />and Zoning Code, which designates the site for professional and office development. The project site <br />is an infill redevelopment parcel within a fully developed area. No land zoned as forest land or <br />timberland exists within the proposed project boundaries. The proposed project would not conflict <br />with existing zoning for forest land or timberland. No impact would occur. <br />d. Result in the loss of forest land or conversion of forest land to non forest use? <br />No Impact. As discussed in ll.c, no land zoned as forest land or timberland exists within the <br />proposed project boundaries. The proposed project would not result in the loss of forest land or <br />conversion of forest land to other uses. No impact would occur. <br />e. Involve other changes in the existing environment which, due to their location or nature, could <br />result in conversion of Farmland to non - agricultural use or conversion of forest land to non- <br />forest use? <br />No Impact. No agricultural land uses, forest land, or timberland exist in the vicinity of the proposed <br />project and the proposed project site has been developed for urban uses since 1964. The proposed <br />school would not involve other changes in the existing environment that, due to their location or <br />nature, could result in conversion of farmland to non- agricultural use or forest land to non - forest <br />use.
