Page-8 of 41 <br />GROUNDS/LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE SPECIFICATIONS <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br />The Contractor shall provide at his own risk and cost all labor, materials, tools, <br />equipment, transportation, , fertilizers, pesticides, chemicals and other items needed to <br />do grounds/landscape maintenance work as directed herein. <br />The Contractor is expected to continuously improve upon the appearance of the <br />landscaped areas. The Contractor shall provide complete grounds/landscape <br />maintenance of all work sites, including, but not limited to pruning, shaping and training <br />of trees, shrubs, and ground cover plants, removing and controlling weeds, controlling <br />plant diseases and pests; mowing turf, edging turf and ground cover, irrigating plant <br />material; maintaining and repairing irrigation systems; tot-lot maintenance; removing <br />trash and debris and, other maintenance required to maintain the work sites in a safe, <br />attractive and useable condition. The Contractor shall maintain all plant material in <br />excellent condition with horticulturally accepted standards for growth, color, and <br />appearance (Horticulturally accepted standards shall be determined by the Director). <br />A. Scheduling of Work <br />1) The Contractor shall accomplish all routine landscape maintenance <br />required under this contract between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., <br />Monday through Sunday. The Director may grant, on an individual basis, <br />permission to perform maintenance at other hours. The Contractor shall <br />establish a schedule of routine work to be followed in the performance of <br />this contract. A copy of this schedule shall be provided to the Director <br />prior the performance of any work required by these specifications, and <br />any changes in scheduling shall be reported in writing to the Director <br />immediately. <br />2) The Contractor shall conduct the work at all times in a manner, which will <br />not interfere with pedestrian traffic on adjacent sidewalks or vehicular <br />traffic on adjacent streets. In addition, a special notification listing exact <br />starting date for renovation, pruning and other infrequent operations, shalt <br />be furnished to the Director at least five (5) working days in advance of . <br />performing these operations. <br />B. Work Force <br />1) The Contractor shall insure that all work under this agreement is <br />supervised by Contractor employed supervisory personnel who possess a <br />Bachelor of Science degree in Ornamental Horticulture, Landscape <br />Architecture, Landscape & Irrigation Technology or any other related <br />science degree. The Supervisor shall also possess management skills <br />required to implement modem methods and newly developed <br />management horticultural procedures and/or practices. <br />25A-1 3
