Sunshine Ordinance <br />September 17, 2012 <br />Page 6 <br />The disclosure requirement would be triggered for all of the following: <br />1. Compensation for lobbying <br />2. Campaign contributions to elected City officials <br />3. Fundraising activities on behalf of elected City officials <br />4. Contributions to political campaigns or charities made at the behest of City officials <br />5. Payments received for services as a consultant to the City or any other agency of the <br />City <br />6. Any compensated work performed as a campaign consultant for any elected City official <br />Staff does not recommend adopting mandatory registration provisions as these would be <br />redundant of laws and regulations that currently exist at the State level, however a self- <br />policing provision be adopted. There are minimal fiscal and staff impacts associated with <br />this provision estimated at less than $5,000 annually. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There are fiscal impacts associated with these items. Additional staff resources are needed to <br />implement a variety of these proposals. Further, there are specific impacts to the business <br />community for requirements associated with the additional notification requirement during the Site <br />Plan Review process. There are also potential impacts to vendors and lobbyists conducting <br />business with the City.
