Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute the amendment to the agreement <br />with Aegis ITS, Inc. to approve a one year contract extension in an amount not to exceed <br />$650,000 annually, with the option to extend for one additional year exercisable by the City <br />Manager, subject to nonsubstantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On August 17, 2009, City Council awarded a three-year contract to Aegis ITS, Inc. (formerly <br />Econolite) for the maintenance of traffic signal and street lighting in the amount of $650,000 per <br />fiscal year. The agreement includes a provision for two one-year extensions of the contract by <br />mutual agreement. The three-year contract expires in 2012. The traffic signal maintenance and <br />street lighting services provided by Aegis ITS, Inc. have been cost effective and performed in a <br />timely manner. Staff recommends that the contract be extended one year as provided in the <br />provisions of the original contract for a not to exceed amount of $650,000. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act, the recommended action is not <br />considered a CEQA project.
