Agreements with URS Corporation <br />October 15, 2012 <br />Page 2 <br />2012 for the preparation of a new initial study, additional traffic analysis and for a new Cultural <br />Resources analysis for the site. <br />On June 4, 2012, the City Council placed the Sexlinger Farmhouse and Orchard on the City's <br />Register of Historical Properties. In response, Concordia University and Lutheran High School of <br />Orange County, the property owners, filed a notice of intent to demolish the historic property, <br />which triggers further environmental review per Chapter 30 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code. <br />The amendment to the existing agreement will include a detailed analysis of an additional <br />alternative to the single-family residential development. Additionally, technical memorandums to <br />the alternative will be prepared, revisions will be made to the draft EIR, and the draft EIR will be <br />recirculated for public review and comment. As a result, staff is requesting that an amendment to <br />the agreement be executed with URS in an amount not to exceed $48,905. This agreement will <br />remain in effect until completion of the EIR. The entire cost of this work has been covered by the <br />developer; and funds in this amount will be deposited with the City. <br />The new agreement is for additional research and work products requested by the City due to the <br />listing of the property on the local historic register. It allows URS to provide City staff with <br />expertise and guidance related to the listing of the property and URS's attendance at the Historic <br />Resources Commission and City Council meetings. As a result, staff is requesting that an <br />agreement be executed with URS in an amount not to exceed $5,810. The cost of this work will <br />be covered by the City. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds in the amount of $48,905 will be deposited by Concordia University into the Planning and <br />Building Agency account for contractual services (No. 09801001-24035) prior to the consultant <br />commencing any work.
