RESOLUTION NO. 2012-049 <br />ROH - 11/19/12 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />APPROVING SITE PLAN REVIEW NO. 2012-06 AS CONDITIONED TO <br />ALLOW THE RENOVATION AND EXPANSION OF THE DISCOVERY <br />SCIENCE CENTER AT 2500 NORTH MAIN STREET <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br />A. Discovery Science Center (DSC) is requesting an amendment to the <br />development standards within Specific Development Plan No. 65 (SD-65) <br />and site plan approval to allow the renovation and expansion of the <br />existing science center as part of Phase II of its approved master plan at <br />2500 North Main Street. <br />B. The Planning Commission of the City of Santa Ana held a duly noticed <br />public hearing on October 22, 2012, and voted to recommend that the City <br />Council adopt a resolution approving Site Plan Review No. 2012-06 as <br />conditioned. <br />C. The DSC is requesting site plan approval for the project (Site Plan Review <br />No. 2012-06). The zoning designation for the subject property is Specific <br />Development Plan No. 65 (SD-65). <br />1. Section 41-593.4(b) of the Santa Ana Municipal Code requires review <br />of all plans within a specific development plan area to ensure the <br />project is in conformity with the Specific Plan. <br />2. Considering adoption of the amendments to SD-65 requested by the <br />DSC, the project is in compliance with all applicable development <br />standards outlined within the Specific Development Plan (SD-65). <br />3. Considering adoption of the amendments to SD-65 requested by the <br />DSC, the project has been determined to be in compliance with <br />applicable parking, landscape and architectural provisions governing <br />the project. <br />Section 2. In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), <br />the recommended actions have been determined to be adequately evaluated in the <br />previously certified FEIR 96-06 and subsequent Addendum FEIR 96-01 (ER00-04) as <br />per Section 15162 of the CEQA guidelines.
