ARTICLE IX <br />9.0 HOLIDAYS <br />9.1 Legal holidays observed by full-time permanent and probationary <br />employees of the City of Santa Ana are as follows: <br />o January 1 - New Year's Day. <br />o Third (3rd) Monday in January - In observance of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s <br />Birthday. <br />o Third (3rd) Monday in February - In commemoration of President's Day. <br />o Last Monday in May - In commemoration of Memorial Day. <br />o July 4th - In observance of Independence Day. <br />o First (1 st) Monday in September - In observance of Labor Day. <br />o November 11 th - In observance of Veterans' Day. <br />o Fourth (4th) Thursday in November - In observance of Thanksgiving Day. <br />o The Friday immediately following Thanksgiving Day. <br />o Last working day before Christmas Day, unless Christmas Day falls on <br />Thursday, in which instance, the day following Christmas Day shall be <br />observed in lieu thereof. <br />o December 25th -In observance of Christmas Day. <br />o One (1) Floating Holiday - Any workday selected by the employee with <br />prior permission of the employee's supervisor. <br />o Every day proclaimed by the Mayor of the City as a holiday for City <br />employees. <br />o Any holiday which falls on a Sunday shall be observed on the following <br />Monday. <br />o Any holiday which falls on a Saturday shall be observed on the Friday <br />preceding the holiday. <br />CONFIDENTIAL ASSOCIATION OF SANTA ANA (CASA) MOU: 2010 - 2014 Page 32 <br />25A-34
