Santa Ana <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Agency (PWA) Water Resources Division manages the delivery of water to <br />businesses and residents in Santa Ana including all fire hydrants. To do so, PWA maintains an <br />extensive distribution system that includes 20 active wells, seven pumping stations and reservoirs, <br />and seven import water connections, as well as miles of water pipe. In order to perform maintenance <br />and repair on fire hydrants and the extensive water system, PWA requires an assortment of materials <br />such as valves, adapters, couplings, clamps as well as brass bushings, flanges, nuts, stops. The <br />contract for waterworks fittings and supplies is designed to provide quality products at a significant <br />savings based on quantity pricing. <br />On December 6, 2011, the Finance and Management Services Agency issued a request for <br />proposals for providing a Central Stores consignment inventory solution. Vendors were asked to <br />submit proposals that would provide for stocking the Central Stores warehouse on a consignment <br />basis. Under the consignment program, Single Point Alliance will stock the warehouse with inventory <br />that will remain their property until the inventory items are issued to City staff. <br />22B-1
