Work Plan (CSUF) <br />Dr. Susamma (Susan) Barua, Associate Dean of the College of Engineering and Computer <br />Science at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), will provide the overall coordination of <br />the activities at CSUF. <br />Coordinate CSUF activities with OC 132E partners; recruit/hire tutors /mentors; oversee <br />tutoring /mentoring <br />Responsible Person: CSUF Project Coordinator & Academic Counselor (VictorDelgado) <br />Start — End: January 2012- Aug 2015 <br />Deliverable: Qualified tutors and mentors are hired to provide tutoring and <br />mentoring support to CSUF engineering students and OC 132E <br />community college transfers <br />2. Offer a 3 -day summer "Introduction to Engineering Careers" workshop to community <br />college students from Santa Ana and Saddleback <br />Responsible Person: CSUF Engineering Faculty (Dr. Binod Tiwari) <br />Start — End: Summer 2012 (Dates to be determined) <br />Deliverable: Students will gain a general understanding of each engineering <br />discipline, appreciation of the breadth of the field, and the ability to <br />make intelligent choice of major. Students will learn work in a team <br />and carry out a basic design project <br />Provide dedicated academic counseling, tutoring and support services to CSUF <br />engineering students and OC 132E community college transfers from Santa Ana and <br />Saddleback <br />Responsible Person: CSUF Project Coordinator & Academic Counselor (Victor Delgado) <br />& CSUF Engineering Faculty (Dr. Kenneth John Faller) <br />Start — End: January 2012- Aug 2015 <br />Deliverable: At least 25 CSUF engineering students and all OC 132E community <br />college transfers receive counseling, tutoring and support <br />4. Organize engineering fieldtrips for CSUF engineering students and OC 132E community <br />college transfers from Santa Ana and Saddleback <br />Responsible Person: CSUF Project Coordinator & Academic Counselor (Victor Delgado) <br />Start — End: January 2012- Aug 2015 <br />Deliverable: Acquaint CSUF engineering students and OC 132E community <br />college transfers with career opportunities <br />CSUF Engineering faculty meets regularly with the OC 132E Instructional Design Team <br />(IDT) to improve articulation, transfer and curriculum <br />Responsible Person: CSUF Engineering Faculty (Dr. Kenneth John Faller) <br />Start — End: January 2012 - June 2014 <br />Deliverable: IDT makes improvements in articulation, transfer processes, <br />curriculum to meet student & business needs <br />M <br />
