Set Public Hearing For <br /> CONTINUED TO <br /> FILE NUMBER <br /> CITY MANAGER <br /> <br /> <br /> RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br /> Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute cooperative agreements with the <br /> Orange County Transportation Authority, subject to non-substantive changes approved by the <br /> City Manager and City Attorney, to implement two Measure M2 Regional Traffic Signal <br /> Synchronization Projects. <br /> <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> <br /> On November 28, 2011, Council authorized staff to submit joint applications with other agencies <br /> for funding under the renewed Measure M2 Regional Traffic Signal Synchronization Program, to <br /> provide interjurisdictional traffic signal synchronization and improvements along several corridors <br /> in the city. <br /> On October 15, 2012, the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) Board approved the <br /> local agencies' funding request for implementation of traffic signal synchronization and <br /> improvements on the following corridors: <br /> <br /> • First Street/Bolsa Avenue from Edwards Street to Newport Avenue <br /> • Edinger Avenue from Bolsa Chica Street to SR-55 Freeway <br /> <br /> The other local agencies participating in these two corridors are the Cities of Westminster, <br /> Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Tustin, and the County of Orange.
