PULIDO, Mayor <br />SAL TINAJERO, Mayor Pro Tern <br />MICHELE MARTINEZ <br />ROMAN A. REYNA <br />VINCENT F. SARMIENTO <br />COUNCILMEMBERS Absent: <br />ANGELICA AMEZCUA <br />P. DAVID BENAVIDES <br />STAFF Present: <br />PAUL M. WALTERS, City Manager <br />SONIA R. CARVALHO, City Attorney <br />MARIA D. HUIZAR, Clerk of the Council <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS - David Hunt, representing Downtown, Inc. (DTI) spoke in <br />support of continued discussions with City staff on concerns raised; opined that no legal <br />ground not to do so; mission of DTI is to revitalize downtown, continue with clean and <br />safe program, investment in marketing, and continue funding Community Management <br />District area; City under contract to continue obligation. <br />COUNCIL RECESSED to Room 147 for Closed Session discussion at 5:16 p.m. <br />CLOSED SESSION ITEMS - The Brown Act permits legislative bodies to discuss <br />certain matters without members of the public present. The City Council finds, based on <br />advice from the City Attorney, that discussion in open session of the following matters <br />will prejudice the position of the City in existing and anticipated litigation: <br />1A CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL--EXISTING LITIGATION <br />pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(a) <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 1 JANUARY 7, 2013 <br />1 0C-1
