Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Request that the City Council adopt a Resolution authorizing the City Manager and Chief of <br />Police, on terms acceptable to the City Attorney, to execute a sub-recipient agreement with <br />the County of Orange and/or Orange County Sheriff's Department in an amount not to exceed <br />$63,494. <br />2. Include in the City Council Resolution, authorization for the Chief of Police and/or his <br />designee, on terms acceptable to the City Attorney, to prepare reimbursement agreements for <br />equipment, services, or training with the County of Orange pursuant to the guidelines set for in <br />the EMPG program and EMPG Articles, Assurances, Certifications, Terms and Conditions. <br />3. Include in the Resolution, approval of an Appropriation Adjustment recognizing the FY 2012 <br />Emergency Management Performance Grant funds in the amount of $63,494 in revenue <br />account (account no. 14614002-52001) and appropriate same into FY 2012 Emergency <br />Management Performance Grant expenditure accounts (account no. 14614362-various). <br />DISCUSSION <br />The State of California Office of Emergency Services is responsible for implementing the United <br />States Department of Homeland Security's Emergency Management Performance Grant <br />Program (EMPG). The funds cover the salary costs for personnel involved in emergency <br />management activities as well as the cost of miscellaneous equipment identified on DHS's <br />approved equipment list. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Approval of the appropriation adjustment will increase anticipated revenue in the EMPG Grant- <br />SAPID Federal Grant - Indirect revenue account by $63,494 (account no. 14614002-52001) and <br />increase the EMPG Grant - SAPD expenditure account by the same amount (account no. <br />14614362-various). <br />55A-1
