AND RECONVENED AT 7:54 P.M WITH SAME MEMBERS <br />PRESENT. <br />COMMENTS <br />90A CITY MANAGER'S COMMENTS - None <br />90B CITY COUNCILMEMBER COMMENTS - <br />Councilmember Amezcua: <br />• City strength lies in diversity; City recognized Korean American <br />community with proclamation, Tet Festival is great celebration for <br />Vietnamese community and February is Black History Month; also <br />respect and support the efforts by LGBT. <br />Councilmember Reyna: <br />• Invited all to attend Tet Festival in Garden Grove; helps bridge two <br />cities and support cultural diversity; <br />• Attended Black History Parade held in Anaheim; well attended; and <br />• Encouraged all to shop in Santa Ana especially with Valentine's Day <br />approaching. <br />Councilmember Benavides: <br />• Encouraged all to attend monthly Art Walk held every 1St Saturday of <br />the month; <br />• Held monthly Community Office Hours at Southwest Senior Center on <br />Saturday (February 2"d); thanked all who attended and for bringing <br />issues and ideas forward; <br />• Commented on misinformation on the City Manager transition; <br />disappointed that Paul Walters decided not to return as Police Chief, <br />had opportunity and option available in his contract, but decided to <br />resign; respect and admire his many contributions to the community; <br />City Council bringing Interim City Manager to take City in different <br />direction; and <br />• Echo comments by Councilmember Reyna to patronize local <br />businesses. <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 15 FEBRUARY 4, 2013
