SAUSD Joint Use and <br />Reimbursement Agreement <br />March 4, 2013 <br />Page 2 <br />Since the SAUSD is familiar with the Department of State Architect's requirements concerning <br />construction on school property, the District will perform the design, construction and inspection <br />of the Joint Use improvements, not to exceed $4.93 million of the grant funding. The <br />Reimbursement Agreement requires the District to obtain all necessary permits/insurance and to <br />perform all improvements under the State Grant terms for reimbursement. Together, District and <br />City staff will review plans and monitor improvements to ensure the project is implemented per <br />City approval. $70,000 of the grant will be available to cover City project management expenses. <br />Both agreements are scheduled this month for the SAUSD Board of Education approval. Once <br />the agreements are approved they will be forwarded to the State, along with the Environmental <br />documents to complete the terms of the grant. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act, the recommended action is <br />categorically exempt from further review under Class 14 - Minor additions to existing schools. A <br />Notice of Exemption Review No. ER 2013-11 (Roosevelt Elementary Park) will be filed for this <br />project. <br />A Title 5 Existing School Safety Certification analysis also was prepared for this project as <br />required by the California Department of Education.
