The Housing Authority pays the difference between the tenant portion and <br />the contract rent. This payment is the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP). <br />The average HAP for January through March 2012 was $896. <br />Production <br />HQS Inspections <br />Each assisted unit must be <br />inspected at least annually to <br />ensure it meets the Housing <br />Quality Standards (NQS} in <br />compliance with federal <br />guidelines. From April to <br />June, a total of 530 <br />inspections and re- <br />inspections of failed units <br />were performed. Chart 7 <br />illustrates the number of <br />inspections performed <br />monthly since <br />April 2012. <br />Re-certifications / Interims <br />Each year, the Housing <br />Authority must re-certify each <br />participating family to ensure <br />/~/~tMNI1~1N/\/'R fltll~~ NM/1MM~1W1 <br />w~ i iNiiai i~c wiu i Ni vy~ ai i ~ <br />eligibility. In addition, when a <br />participant's income <br />changes, an interim <br />examination must be <br />performed. During the <br />reporting period, a total of <br />993 re-certifications/interims <br />were conducted. Monthly <br />totals sinceApril 2012 are <br />
