Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute the attached agreement with <br />LexisNexis, Inc. for legal on-line research services in an annual amount not to exceed $24,984.00, <br />subject to non-substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Santa Ana Police Department requires the ability to access information systems to conduct <br />research for criminal backgrounds on an ongoing basis through both standard publication and on-line <br />formats. LexisNexis-Accurint is a Web based applications that can provide the police personnel with <br />the ability to intelligently access necessary records resulting in improving the effectiveness and <br />efficiency of investigations and minimizing cost.
