Committee, reviewed the SAMC 30-7 requirements, notices of availability that <br />were publicized, and reviewed the options for the property. <br />Written communication received from Robert N. Odle on the status and offers for <br />the property; Phyl and Bill Stevens in support of demolition and development of <br />property; Linda Francis, Jacqueline M. Wells Morris, Mary & Joe Maduena, Toni <br />Kimball of the Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society, Alan Lawson of the <br />Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society, Jeannie Gillett of The Old Orchard <br />Conservancy, and Steve Ray of The Old Orchard Conservancy in support of <br />saving and preserving the historical orchard and farmhouse. <br />Commission discussion ensued on the former Redevelopment Agency properties <br />and the environmental process. <br />The public hearing was opened at 5:00 p.m. and the following speakers <br />addressed the Commission on the matter: <br />• Alan Lawson, Santa Ana Preservation Society board member, spoke in <br /> support of preserving the orchard and farmhouse and the resolution <br /> suggesting the city purchase the property. <br />• Deborah Rosenthal, representing The Old Orchard Conservancy , spoke in <br /> support of preserving and the city purchasing the property. <br />• Matthew Holbrook, representing the Old Orchard Conservancy, spoke in <br /> support of preserving the orchard and farmhouse. <br />• Nick Spain, The Old Orchard Conservancy board member, spoke in <br /> support of preserving the orchard and farmhouse and noted the <br /> categorization should be changed from "Key" to "Landmark". <br />• Ryan Bensley, Vice President of The Old Orchard Conservancy, spoke in <br /> support of preserving and the city purchasing the property. <br />Commissioner Sustamante arrived at 5:94 p.m. <br />• Jeannie Gillett, President of The Old Orchard Conservancy, spoke in <br /> support of preserving and the city purchasing the property. <br />• Deborah Strunk, spoke in support of preserving the property. <br />• Steve Ray, The Old Orchard Conservancy board member, spoke in <br /> support of preserving and the city purchasing the property. <br />The public hearing was closed at 5:40 p.m. <br />Commission discussion ensued on bids for the purchase of the property, <br />communications between the property owners and The Old Orchard <br />Historic Resources Commission Minukes 3 January 24, 2013 <br />
